Tammy Pescatelli (May 15, 1969), born as Tammy Gillespie, is an American stand-up comedian from Perry, Ohio. Her genre is described as an observational comedy. Pescatelli spent her childhood summers in her mother's hometown of Meadville, Pennsylvania. She worked as a morning radio show co-host, TV spokeswoman, performer, and basketball cheerleader (1990 to 1995) in the Quad Cities area of northwestern Illinois and southeastern Iowa.
Pescatelli's comedic career took a new turn when she appeared on NBC's Last Comic Standing in 2004. Later, on February 11, 2008, she married Luca Palanca. Both of them moved to Meadville in 2009 after the birth of their son. Pescatelli is often on the road as a stand-up comedian, and a significant part of her humorous shows originates from the interactions from her in-laws. She also executive produced, wrote, co-created and starred in a reality television show called A Standup Mother (2011), on WE TV. The show was related to Pescatelli's life as a mother, comedian, and wife.
Finding the Funny is her comedy special that was released on Netflix in 2013. The same special was selected "New and Noteworthy" by iTunes editors and hit number 3 on the charts. Pescatelli was chosen four years in a row to be included in The New York Post's greatest jokes. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with stage 2 ovarian cancer in 2011 and underwent surgery. Pescatelli has since stated that she was "free and clear" of cancer.
