Spamalot is a musical written and composed by Eric Idle, with lyrics and music by John Du Prez. It was adapted from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Another name for the show is Monty Python's Spamalot: A Musical (Lovingly) Taken Off from the Motion Picture. This musical parodies the legend of King Arthur in irreverent ways.
Mike Nichols's 2005 Broadway production was nominated for fourteen Tony Awards and won three, including Best Musical.
