Seth Rogen Information
Seth Aaron Rogen (April 15, 1982) is a Canadian-American filmmaker, comedian, and actor. He was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. He started as a stand-up comic in Vancouver before moving to Los Angeles to star in Freaks and Geeks, which led to a role on the sitcom Undeclared and a writing gig with the show's creators. Apatow helped Rogen get his start in the film industry after he was hired as a staff writer for the final season of Da Ali G Show. While working on the show's staff, he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.
His film debut was in a supporting part for Donnie Darko (2001). In Apatow's first feature film as director, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Rogen appeared in a supporting part and was listed as a co-producer. In the following years, he starred as the protagonist in two of Apatow's films (Knocked Up and Funny People) for Universal Pictures. In Universal's Steve Jobs biography from 2015, Rogen co-starred as Steve Wozniak. Together with Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin, he created the 2016 AMC series Preacher. Alongside Goldberg, he also writes, produces, and directs.
Superbad, Pineapple Express, The Green Hornet, and This Is the End all had Rogen in the lead role, and Rogen and Goldberg co-wrote all four of those films in addition to directing This Is the End and The Interview. In addition to the 2019 Lion King remake and the next Mario film, his voice can be heard in Shrek the Third, Horton Hears a Who!, the Kung Fu Panda trilogy, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Monsters vs. Aliens, Paul, Sausage Party, and The Spiderwick Chronicles.
