Roger Nygard Information
Roger Nygard (March 28, 1962) is an American film director and producer born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At the age of seven, when Nygard found his father’s 8mm camera, he started making films. Only half a film role was left, and he shot his first film with it. In 1997, he directed Trekkies, which was released the same year. Two years later, the sequel of Trekkies as Trekkies 2 was again directed by Nygard. Another film named “Suckers” was directed by him as well as co-wrote the story along with Joe Yennetty. Suckers became an award-winning film that won the 2001 Video Premiere Award for the Screenplay category.
Suckers also won the 2000 Cinequest Film Festival for the “Special Jury Artistic Merit Award.” In 2010, Nygard produced and directed the documentary entitled “The Nature of Existence.” Nygard spent almost four years traveling the world and conducted 175 interviews. He filmed a reality show pilot episode after he signed a deal with Country Music Television in 2013. He has produced another documentary in 2020 entitled “The Truth About Marriage.”
Nygard has produced and directed several notable films throughout his career including Tales of the Unknown (1990), High Strung (1991), Back to Back (1996), Trekkies (1997), Creep Tales (2004), The Relationship Doctrine of Bon Blanquito (2012), and a few more. Nygard has also directed an episode of the world-famous American television comedy series, The Office.
