Robert Kelly Information
Robert Kelly (October 8, 1970) is an American stand-up comedian, radio personality, podcast host, and actor born in Medford, Massachusetts. He frequently performs at the Comedy Cellar and often appears on The Opie and Anthony Show on Sirius XM Satellite Radio and Premium Blend, Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn, and Last Call with Carson Daly. In 1991, he performed his first stand-up routine on stage during a school talent competition as part of a sketch comedy troupe called Al and the Monkeys.
Before pursuing his stand-up comedy full-time, Kelly worked for several jobs, including delivering flowers, waiter, and with juvenile delinquents. Kelly did not perform stand-up for two years after splitting from his comedy troupe in the early 1990s. An agent spotted him through his acting work, and soon after, Kelly went to New York City to pursue his career further. He went on touring with fellow comedians in 2005, including Jay Davis, Gary Gulman, and Dane Cook. It was on the cross-country tour entitled “Tourgasm.”
Kelly went to Iraq, accompanying fellow comedian Colin Quinn, to performed stand-up for American troops stationed in Baghdad. In 2007, he was a part of the Pass the Mic Comedy Tour on May 6 during the Bamboozle Festival. Kelly has also appeared in several hit films throughout his career, including Unsane (2018), Trainwreck (2015), Staten Island Truffle Hunter (2013), Cheat (2011), Children of Invention (2009), What Doesn’t Kill You (2008), Ghost Town (2008), and Good Luck Chuck (2007).
