River Butcher Information
River Butcher (August 12, 1982) is an American podcast host, writer, producer, actor, and stand-up comedian. He was born in Akron, Ohio. He started his education at Our Lady of the Elms High School and finished it at Archbishop Hoban in 2001. Butcher helped build a skatepark that debuted in Akron in 2001, and he worked at a skateboard shop called Summer Squall and an indoor skating facility called Joe's Skate Park while studying at the University of Akron.
Butcher got his start in the comedy industry doing improv at The Second City in Chicago. Since then, he has performed stand-up at venues like Zanies, the Jukebox, Flappers, Chicago Underground Comedy, The Hideout, The Lincoln Lodge, UCB, Cole's, and Meltdown. In June of 2016, he made his late-night television debut on Conan. Butcher co-starred with Cameron Esposito in a video series for BuzzFeed Motion Pictures titled "Ask a Lesbian," released in the fall of 2014.
Adam Ruins Everything's first season premiered in 2016, and he was a guest star in eight episodes. He made a second comeback in 2017 for a single performance. He launched his baseball-themed podcast Three Swings in 2018. In 2021, he had a special called A Different Kind of Dude on Comedy Central's stand-up series. In an interview, Butcher named Rosie O'Donnell, Ellen DeGeneres, Brett Butler, and a few others as the comics who most influenced him.
