Rex Navarrete Information
Rex Lasat Navarrete (May 27, 1969) is a Filipino American comedian from Manila, Philippines. He is best known for his comedy material which is most inclined toward Filipino audiences. Soon after Navarrete was born, his parents shifted to the US from the Philippines and settled in Chicago. He was left with his grandparents in the province of Batangas and Cavite. Soon he met his parents again, and they together moved to South San Francisco, California. Navarrete graduated from the famous San Francisco State University. He majored in Asian American studies as well as in the film.
In 1998, Navarrete's official career began as a performer at the University of California Santa Cruz. Since then, he has been performing in several well-known colleges and universities scattered all across the globe. He has also performed in many famous festivals and comedy shows. The list includes headlining a sold-out performance at the Wiltern LG in Los Angeles and The Warfield in San Francisco. Navarrete is known for his exclusive touring schedule. He toured Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America as of 2006. His top performances took place in Geneva, Hong Kong, Singapore, San Francisco, New York, and Montreal.
Hella Pinoy was the first-ever DVD by Navarrete that was released in 2003. In 2005, he again released "Badass Madapaka," followed by the DVD titled "Komik Organik" in 2010. His other top three discographies are Badly Browned (1998), Husky Boy (1999), and Bastos (2001).
