Jessica Williams (April 29, 1985) is a writer, actress, and comedian. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is professionally known as Punkie Johnson. She went to the Catholic and public shows. Johnson completed her graduation in May 2003 from McDonough 35 High School. She also studied at Nicholls State University in Thibodeaux, Louisiana. She completed graduation in May 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies.
Johnson started her professional career as a stand-up comedian. She soon joined The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, a paid regular at the show. Johnson also performed at Just for Laughs during its 2019 season. She has also appeared in many television series, including Adam Ruins Everything, Corporate, A Black Lady Sketch Show, and Space Force.
Johnson was featured as a player on Saturday Night Live in 2020 for its forty-sixth season. She is one of the eighth Black female cast members in the show’s history, the second Black LGBT woman cast, and overall the seventh LGBTQ member. Johnson’s film work includes The Lot (2019), Sixteen Thousand Dollars (2020), and The Adventures of Whit (2020).
