Priscilla Presley is an American businesswoman and actress. She was born in New York City. The Hollywood producer Hal B. Wallis, who had bankrolled many of Elvis's earlier films, expressed an interest in signing the singer to a contract. While many men of his generation believed that "a woman's place was in the home looking after her man," Elvis had no intention of letting his wife leave the house to pursue a career of any type.
Understanding Elvis' position prevented Presley from pushing her interest in dance and modeling beyond a hobby. Once, she was offered to be a model for a nearby store, but she had to turn down the offer when Elvis found out about it. Elvis Presley was at one point approached about playing an angel on Charlie's Angels. Due to her distaste for the program, she declined the part. As a co-host of Those Amazing Animals in 1980, Presley made her television debut.
She made her professional acting debut in an episode of The Fall Guy from season 2 called "Manhunter" in 1983. Following that, she co-starred with Michael Landon in the TV movie Love is Forever. In the 1988 film The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!, Presley played Leslie Nielsen's love interest, Jane Spencer. Roger Ebert, the film's chief critic, said Presley's "light comic touch" was a welcome counterpoint to the film's more extreme jokes.
