Nik Wallenda Information
Nikolas Wallenda is an American aerialist, daredevil, acrobat, high wire artist, and author from Sarasota, Florida. Wallenda is part of a seventh-generation member of The Flying Wallendas family that lost many of its members while training or performing. Nikolas is known as The King of The Wire and gave his first public performance in 1981, at SeaWorld San Diego. At the age of two, he was already playing on the wire, walking back and forth while holding his mother's hand. By the age of four, Wallenda was walking the wire on his own.
Wallenda visited Niagara Falls at the age of six and immediately decided he would walk a tightrope across it one day. At 13, he made his professional tightrope walking debut, which he is now known for his high-wire performances without a safety net. He proudly owns 11 Guinness World Records for various acrobatic feats.
Wallenda was the first person to walk a tightrope stretched directly over the dangerous Niagara Falls, achieving a goal he set at six years old. On March 4, 2020, his longest walk was when he walked 1,800 feet on a steel cable over Masaya Volcano in Nicaragua. In 2001, Wallenda was part of the world's first eight-person high-wire pyramid.
