Neil Gaiman Information

Neil Richard MacKinnon Gaiman (November 10, 1960) is an English author of short fiction, comic books, graphic novels, novels, nonfiction, audio theatre, and films. His birth name is Neil Richard Gaiman, and he is from Portchester, Hampshire, England. His basic genres are fantasy, horror, dark fantasy, comedy, and science fiction. Gaiman was perfectly able to read at the age of just four. At the age of ten, he read the works of Dennis Wheatley. He was educated at several Church of England schools, which include Fonthill School in East Grinstead, Whitgift School in Croydon, and Ardingly College.

Gaiman began his career as a teenager. He used to read works of Carroll, Mary Shelley, Rudyard Kipling, Michael Moorcock, Alan Moore, Steve Ditko, Ursula K. Le Guin, Harlan Ellison, Lord Dunsany, and relevant others. According to Gaiman, Roger Zelazny was the author who influenced him the most. Later in the 1980s, he pursued journalism, writing book reviews, and conducting interviews.

Gaiman wrote and reviewed on behalf of the British Fantasy Society. "Featherquest" was his first professional short story, which was a fantasy story. It published in Imagine Magazine in May 1984. Some of his other hit publications include his first book, a biography of the band Duran Duran along with Ghastly Beyond Belief (a book of quotations), Don't Panic: The Official Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Companion, and a few more.

Some of his famous comic books are Future Shocks, Violent Cases, Signal to Noise, Black Orchid, The Sandman, and the list goes on. He also featured in many films such as Neil Gaiman Dream Dangerously, Good Omens, The Guild, and a few more Gaiman has a long list of awards and honors such as three Harvey Awards, many Locus Awards, Eisner Awards, Inkpot Award at the San Diego Comic-Con International, Hugo Awards, and the list goes on.
