Modi Rosenfeld (April 29, 1970) is a stand-up comedian and actor known professionally as Modi (stylized as MODI). When he was seven, his family uprooted from Tel Aviv, and he settled in Woodmere, New York. Modi continues to sing in his spare time in the synagogue, where he prays; he attended the Belz School of Music at Yeshiva University to study cantorial music.
Modi was a member of the fashion police who wrote to U.S. Weekly and was a semifinalist in Last Comic Standing Season 4. He hosts the podcast Here's Modi. According to him, Don Rickles, Jackie Mason, George Carlin, and Louis CK are the comedians who have inspired Modi. His comic timing, he says, is all thanks to Alan King.
On June 26, 2018, the City of New York officially honored him by proclamation, naming that day "Mordechi 'Modi' Rosenfeld Day." Along with other comedians, Elon Gold and Dani Zoldan, Modi co-founded and produced the Chosen Comedy Festival. Some podcasts have included Modi as a guest, including the Kiddush Club Podcast.
