Michael Kosta Information
Michael Kosta is a former tennis player and stand-up comedian. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After graduating with a BA in Speech Communications in 2002, Kosta spent two years competing professionally on the ITF and ATP tours before joining the staff as the Assistant Men's Tennis Coach at the University of Michigan. While working as an assistant coach, he also started performing stand-up comedy at local bars and clubs. Kosta moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to pursue a career in stand-up comedy.
In January 2011, Kosta starred in a half-hour Comedy Central special titled Comedy Central Presents: Michael Kosta. He has been on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Conan, Chelsea Lately, and Late Night with Seth Meyers. In addition to his appearances on World's Dumbest and the HBO Comedy Festival in Aspen, he has appeared at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival.
In the fall of 2011, Kosta filmed a pilot for Comedy Central titled Overloaded with Michael Kosta; however, the show has not yet aired since October of this year. Kosta and fellow comedians Neal Brennan, Dov Davidoff, Kevin Smith, and Ali Wong filmed their mini-sitcom for network TV in 2013 under FOX's Shortcom Comedy Hour. Comedy For Attractive People, Kosta's debut comedy album, was published in 2015 on Comedy Dynamics Records.
