Messmer Information
Messmer (August 2, 1971) is a Quebec artist and hypnotist from Canada. His real name is Éric Normandin, and he has been practicing hypnosis on stage since the 1990s. At seven, he received a book by his grandfather, by Jean Filiatre on hypnotism. He took on the pseudonym Messmer in 1995 to pay homage to Franz-Anton Mesmer, who was the founder of the theory of animal magnetism (or mesmerism).
Messmer began doing shows in arcades near his home at the age of 15. In addition to his stage shows, Messmer developed and practiced therapeutic hypnosis in his office. In the early 2000s, Messmer stopped practicing in the clinic to focus on his performances.
His official career began when Messmer joined the Entourage Group, in 2007. It was a television and entertainment production company. In September of the same year, Mesmer started his very first touring show entitled Messmer fascinator à Montréal. The shows in which he appeared are 2007 to 2012: Fascinating Messmer (467 performances), 2012 to 2018: Messmer the Fascinator, 2012 to 2018: Timeless, and Since 2018: Hypersensory.
In regards to television shows, Messmer's most notable appearances include 2009: Messmer: fascinator ( TVA ), 2015: The Messmer Hyp-Gags (TVA), 2017: loose releases (VAT), 2017: The Messmer experience (TVA), and 2018: loose releases (VAT).
