Maria Bamford (September 3, 1970) is an American actress and stand-up comedian. Her broken family, despair, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and mental illness are some of the gloomy and self-deprecating subjects that she frequently explores in her writing.
The Burning Bridges Tour (2003) was her debut comedy album and tour, and she released eight additional albums and specials. She has lent her voice to numerous animated series, including CatDog's Shriek and numerous more on American Dad!, Ugly Americans, Adventure Time, and BoJack Horseman. Her debut feature film was Lucky Numbers (2000).
Stuart Little 2 (2002), Charlotte's Web 2: Wilbur's Great Adventure (2003), Barnyard (2006), Heckler (2007), and Hell and Back (2015) are among her cinematic credits. She provided the voices of Talking Becca and Talking Ginger on the web series Talking Tom and Friends. She made her live television debut in 2012 on Louie and has since appeared in 2013–2019 on Arrested Development, 2007–2015 on WordGirl, 2017–present on Big Mouth, 2021–2022, and 2022–2023 on Flatbush Misdemeanors.
Her 2014 win for Best Club Comic came from the American Comedy Award. Lady Dynamite, a 2016 Netflix original series in which she stars, is based on her real story. In Big Mouth, she provided the voice for Tito, the Anxiety Mosquito. In 2023, her memoir "Sure, I'll Join Your Cult" was published.
