Kathleen Turner is an American actress born in Springfield, Missouri. She completed her secondary school education in 1972 at The American School in London. She spent two years studying theater at Southwest Missouri State University. After seeing her in The House of Blue Leaves, director Herbert Blau urged her to finish her undergraduate education at the University of Maryland, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1977.
Turner lived in Midland, Texas, with her mother during the summer of 1973. In the Summer Mummers 1973 melodrama Plodding Among the Planets, Turner made headlines as the first female villain. A few months after relocating to New York City in 1977, Turner replaced Jonathan Frakes as the female lead in Michael Zetter's play Mister T at Soho Repertory Theatre.
In an extensive interview published by Vulture on August 7, 2018, Turner discussed a wide variety of topics, from the acting abilities of Elizabeth Taylor to her experience meeting Donald Trump in the 1980s. Because of Turner's honesty and the admissions she made, the article was picked up by other media outlets, which in turn caused her name to trend on Google.
