Katherine Ryan Information
Katherine Louisa Ryan (June 30, 1983) is a Canadian actress, presenter, writer, and comedian. She was born in Samia, Ontario. After finishing college, Ryan stayed at Hooters as a corporate trainer. She visited other Canadian cities to instruct servers and assist with launching the chain's first and only location in Nottingham, United Kingdom. She went along with her boyfriend's desire to visit London for a month beginning in the summer of 2007 and eventually settling there permanently in January 2008.
In 2008, Rachel Stubbings and Sara Pascoe were runner-ups to Ryan for the Funny Women award. Ryan made her first televised appearances as herself on the Canadian music video review on Trial between the show's first and third seasons (2005 and 2008). She moved to England and made her debut TV appearance in 2012 on Channel 4's 8 Out of 10 Cats. She had been on the cast of Campus on Channel 4 before. On the 23rd episode of BBC One's Let's Dance for Comic Relief, a celebrity contestant performed "Starships" as Nicki Minaj. Ryan competed in the final round and placed fourth overall.
In 2016, Ryan, adopting the nickname her younger sister gave her while growing up, went on a comedy tour under the name Kathbum. Katherine Ryan: In Trouble, filmed at the Hammersmith Apollo in London during the tour, was aired on Netflix in February 2017.
