Joe Gatto Information
Joseph Anthony Gatto Jr. (June 5, 1976) is an American improvised comedian, actor, and director. He is from Staten Island in New York City. He used to perform with Sal Vulcano, James Murray, and Brian Quinn as a member of their comic group, the Tenderloins. Impractical Jokers, in which Gatto co-starred with the other Tenderloins, premiered on TruTV on December 15, 2011.
After graduating from college, Murray, Gatto, and Vulcano got back together and started practicing improv in Gatto's house. The two eventually toured as an improv and sketch comedy team in 1998 under the Tenderloins.
The Tenderloins banded together and immediately began producing comedy sketches, which they uploaded to sites like YouTube, Myspace, and Metacafe, where they soon amassed millions of views. After submitting their skit "Time Thugs" to the 2007 NBC It's Your Show competition, the ensemble won the grand prize of $100,000.
Gatto and the rest of the Tenderloins appeared on The Misery Index in 2019, a game show based on Andy Breckman's card game "Shit Happens" and presented by Jameela Jamil. Gatto's book, The Dogfather: My Love for Dogs, Dessert, and Growing Up Italian, was released on August 26, 2020.
Gatto and comedian Steve Byrne have hosted the monthly Two Cool Moms podcast since March 1, 2022. As the hosts said, "strong, opinionated mothers who gave great advice" inspired the podcast's moniker.
