James Adam “Jim” Belushi (June 15, 1954) is an American musician, singer, comedian, and actor. He was born in Chicago and raised in Wheaton, a Chicago suburb. In 1972, Belushi completed his graduation from Wheaton Central High School. He then attended the College of DuPage and got a bachelor’s degree in Speech and Theater Arts from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He worked with the infamous Chicago theater group named The Second City from 1977 to 1980. Belushi made his television debut with the 1978’s sitcom series, Who’s Watching the Kids.
Belushi had his first significant role in 1981’s “Thief” by Michael Mann. He later appeared on Saturday Night Live from 1983 to 1985. Belushi made a guest appearance in the third-season episode “Pinocchio” of FaerieTale Theater, where Paul Reubens was starring as the titular puppet. He received greater prominence for his supporting roles in Little Shop of Horrors, About Last Night…., and Salvador.
Belushi has starred in many notable films so far, including Joe Somebody, Angel’s Dance, Gang Related, Retroactive, Separate Lives, Jingle All The Way, Race the Sun, Wild Palms, Once Upon A Crime, Curly Sue, Only the Lonely, Mr. Destiny, Taking Care of Business, Dimenticare Palermo, K-9, Homer and Eddie, Red Heat, The Principle, and Real Men.
Some notable television shows in which Belushi has appeared include Growing Belushi (2020), Trolls: The Beat Goes On! (2019), Salvage (2018), Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie (2017), Twin Peaks (2017), Mating (2017), The 7D (2016), and Good Girls Revolt (2015-2016).
