Jill Soloway is an Illinois based showrunner, writer, director, and American television creator. Jill Soloway is well known and famous for writing, creating, executive producing, and directing the original Amazon series called “Transparent.” For this series, Jill Soloway has won two Emmy Awards. Jill Soloway has also directed and written the film “Afternoon Delight.” For this film, they won the Best Director award at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival; and producing "Six Feet Under." Fun fact about Jill Soloway is that Soloway is nonbinary and gender non-conforming and uses gender-neutral singular they pronouns.
Jill Soloway has always had a keen interest in film and television, which is why they went on to study the same thing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. They also participated in the creation of an undergraduate experimental narrative film entitled Ring of Fire as the assistant director under the supervision of director Anita Katzman.
