Jenny Slate Information
Jenny Sarah Slate is an American actress, author, and comedian. She was born on March 25, 1982, in Milton, Massachusetts. After graduating from Milton Academy as the valedictorian, she met with her future comedy partner Gabe Liedman. In 2004, she graduated from Columbia.
Slate regularly performed her one-woman show titled Jenny Slate: Dead Millionaire from 2008-2009 at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (UCBT) situated in the New York City. She was a regular commentator on many commentary programs hosted on the American Pay Television network VH1.
Slate had given many appearances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’s "7th Floor West" in early 2009. Many television programs invited her as a special guest, such as Girls, Bob's Burgers, Important Things with Demetri Martin, The Whitest Kids U' Know, and Raising Hope.
From 2009 to 2010, she became a cast member for one season of Saturday Night Live and has appeared in shows such as Bored to Death, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Kroll Show, Bob's Burgers, Star vs. the Forces of Evil, House of Lies, Big Mouth, and Married. She has been featured in films also including Zootopia and The Secret Life of Pets.
She voiced and co-wrote “Marcel the Shell with Shoes” in August 2010, which garnered viral success. On November 1, 2011, Slate’s "Marcel"-themed children's book was released. In film Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, she gave her significant role as Zoe. In Parks and Recreation’s 2013 episode "Bailout," she appeared and portrayed Mona-Lisa Saperstein.
She voiced Dawn Bellwether in the comedy-adventure film Zootopia in 2016 and Gidget in the animated feature The Secret Life of Pets. Currently, she is voicing the character of Missy Foreman-Greenwald in Big Mouth. Slate released a comedy special on Netflix titled Stage Fright in October 2019.
She won the Critics Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy, the Virtuosos Award at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, Best Breakout Performance at the Newport
