Jay Mohr Information
Jon Ferguson “Jay” Mohr (August 23, 1970) is an American actor, comedian, and radio host. He was born in Verona, New Jersey, where he was raised as a Presbyterian. Later on, he converted to Roman Catholicism. Mohr began his career by hosting the lip-sync contest game show in 1992 entitled “Lip Service” on MTV and appeared as a featured player for the 1993-94 and 1994-95 seasons of Saturday Night Live. He is best known as film producer Peter Dragon in the TV comedy series named Action.
Mohr frequently appeared in the first season of The Jeff Foxworthy Show as a brother of Jeff Foxworthy. In 1996, he made his major film appearance where he conveyed Bob Sugar, a sleazy sports agent in Jerry Maguire. In 1997, he was cast for another starring role with Jennifer Aniston in the film “Picture Perfect.” Mohr has performed as a voice-over artist for Beyond the Glory of Fox Sports Net.
Mohr made his notable appearance in a late-night talk show, and Michael Eisner offered him a job. He declined the offer; instead, he convinced Eisner to host the show on ESPN named Mohr Sports. The show ran briefly in 2001 but later was canceled. Mohr worked in several other hit films throughout his career, such as The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue (1997), Paulie (1998), Small Soldiers (1998), Jane Austen’s Mafia! (1998), Playing by Heart (1998), and 200 Cigarettes (1999).
