Jason "Jay" Larson is an American writer, actor, and comedian. He was raised in Stoneham, Massachusetts. He was the fourth of five children, and his mother and grandmother brought him up. He studied English at Saint Anselm College and graduated in 1999. He was on the collegiate baseball team and starred as Tevye the Rabbi in the senior performance of Fiddler on the Roof. He completed his formal education and then relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
In 2001, Larson started doing stand-up comedy in Los Angeles, and by 2004 he was a regular performer at The Comedy Store. In the year following, he was one of the festival's highlighted "New Faces" at the Montreal Comedy Festival. Larson made his debut appearance on Craig Ferguson's The Late Late Show in 2005 and followed that up with a half-hour special on Comedy Central in 2011. In 2016, his story "Wrong Number" was broadcast on This American Life with Ira Glass and became viral online.
Larson made an appearance on This Is Not Happening, which airs on Comedy Central, in 2015. Larson co-hosted the comedic podcast "The CrabFeast" with fellow comic Ryan Sickler from 2012 till 2018. In 2014, Larson co-hosted two seasons of the Best Bars in America series on the Esquire Network. Larson had an appearance in the 2015 spring thriller The Invitation. The 2017 Showtime season of Twin Peaks included the actor in the role of a limo driver, thanks to the film directed by Karyn Kusama. Two television series that Larson developed for NBC Universal were ultimately canceled.
