A native Californian, Jason Collings grew up right in the middle of Long Beach. When Jason was in elementary school, he had a reputation as a prankster. As he entered his teenage years, his love of humor grew stronger. Comics like George Carlin, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, and Jim Carrey soon became his heroes. He soaked in every special' he could and wondered if he, too, had what it took to make it as a stand-up comic.
Unbeknownst to him, one crucial moment would determine whether or not Jason would take the stage. Jason's father received a fatal cancer diagnosis in 2006. Jason made it his mission to perform on stage because he knew his dad might never get the chance to see him there again. He lied about his experience performing in front of an audience and was able to get stage time at a nearby Hollywood bar.
He started his career at age 35 and has already performed alongside several famous comedians. Both Jo Koy and Carlos Mencia have taken him on tour. The Improv, Laugh Factory, Ice House, Punchline, and The Jon Lovitz Comedy Club are just a few of the main venues he frequently performs.
