Jane Lynch Information
Jane Lynch (July 14, 1960) is an American actress, comedian, and author. She was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, and raised in Dolton, Illinois. She went to Thornridge High School and spent 15 years in Chicago, where she worked as an actor in the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. She was one of only two women picked to join The Second City comedy troupe. She also performed at Annoyance Theatre. In 1988, Lynch kickstarted her film career by playing a small role in the film Vice Versa.
Lynch played a secondary role as a doctor alongside Harrison Ford in The Fugitive in 1993. That same year, she appeared as a reporter in Fatal Instinct. Lynch made appearances in numerous television commercials during the 1990s. She became a staple actress in Guest’s cast after playing Christy Cummings’s role, a butch lesbian personal dog handler trophy wife, Sheri Ann Cabot (Jennifer Coolidge).
Lynch has taken supporting roles in a series of films, including Spring Breakdown, Wreck-It Ralph, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Another Cinderella Story, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, and Role Models.
Jane Marie Lynch has been nominated several times and won numerous awards throughout her career. She won a Primetime Emmy Award, People’s Choice Award, Satellite Award, TCA Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and Golden Globe Award for playing Sue Sylvester in Glee.
