Jamie Lee Information
Jamie Lee Curtis (November 22, 1958) is an American activist, children's author, producer, and actress. She was born in Santa Monica, California. She first gained widespread recognition with her role as Lt. Barbara Duran in the ABC sitcom Operation Petticoat (1977–78). After establishing herself as a scream queen in her debut role as Laurie Strode in the slasher film Halloween (1978), she went on to star in several other horror films, including The Fog (1980), Prom Night (1980), Terror Train (1980), and Roadgames (1981).
The cult comedies Trading Places (1983), for which she won a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress, and A Fish Called Wanda (1988), for which she was nominated for a Best Actress award, are just two examples of the different types of films in which Curtis has appeared. She became a sex icon thanks to her performance in Perfect in 1985. For her performance as Helen Tasker in the action thriller True Lies, she was awarded a Golden Globe (1994).
Curtis won a People's Choice Award and a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Hannah Miller in Anything But Love. She received a nomination for a Primetime Emmy for her performance in Nicholas' Gift (1998). She also garnered her sixth nomination for a Golden Globe for her role as Cathy Munsch in the 2015–16 season of the Fox sitcom Scream Queens. She is recognized as one of the top actors who was never nominated for an Academy Award.
