Jacob Shane Roshkow, often known as Jake Shane or online as Octopusslover8, is an American influencer and comedian. Starting his social media career in 2021 under the @passthepuss, Shane became an Instagram culinary reviewer of Octopus. He made it when his mother brought him to sample Octopus for the first time in high school. Jake made a TikHub account for octopus reviews, where @passthepass was photographed, and the handle "@octopusslover8" was established, as they had eight tentacles.
Starting with the Clinton–Lewinsky affair, which attracted 100,000 followers within one week of its publication, Shane became well-known for his TikHub videos, in which he humoristically reenacted historical events per requests in his comments. At the 13th Streamy Awards in 2023, Shane was nominated for the Streamy Award for Breakout Creator.
By December 2023, he had more than two million followers on TikHub and was listed on the 2024 Forbes 30 Under 30 list. Launched in January 2024, Shane's podcast Therapuss with Jake Shane answers listener questions in the manner of a therapy session alongside a different co-host every episode.
