Iliza Vie Shlesinger (February 22, 1983) is an American television host, actress, comedian, screenwriter, and executive producer born in New York City. After graduating from Emerson, Schlesinger followed his dream of becoming a stand-up comedian by moving to Los Angeles, where he performed with ComedySportz Dallas. She was one of the most well-known whiteboy humor stand-ups in Los Angeles, which is what got her a spot in the "Last Comic Standing" competition at The Improv in Hollywood.
Pieces of a Woman, in which Schlesinger performed the role of Anita Weiss, the protagonist's sister, premiered on September 4, 2020, at the 77th Venice International Film Festival and was made available on Netflix on January 7, 2021. On June 23, 2021, she made her Netflix debut in the romantic comedy Good on Paper, in which she also starred, authored, and served as an executive producer. In October 2022, Iliza Shlesinger: Hot Forever, her sixth stand-up comedy special, debuted on Netflix.
In August 2014, she launched a podcast offering guidance under the name Truth and Iliza, which she continued to host as recently as April 2023. The semi-weekly podcast, with a punk theme tune performed by Being Mean to Pixley, has celebrity guests and personal friends discussing issues that worry her and people on the show.
