Ilana Glazer (April 12, 1987) is an American activist, director, actress, writer, producer, and stand-up comedian. She was born in New York City into an Ashkenazi Jewish family and raised in St. James, Long Island, New York, where she was a Reform Jew. She has collaborated with her brother, Eliot Glazer, on projects such as Broad City and The Boys Presents: Diabolical, where he portrays her brother. With a degree in psychology under her belt, Glazer left New York University in 2009.
The show was revived for a third season in January 2015 and debuted on February 17, 2016. Season five, which debuted on January 24, 2019, followed a renewal for a fourth season in January 2016. In the 2017 comedy Rough Night, Glazer co-starred with Scarlett Johansson and Kate McKinnon. False Positive, starring Glazer, premiered on Hulu on June 25, 2021.
In January 2020, Glazer made a significant mark in the comedy world with her stand-up special debut on Amazon Prime, The Planet Is Burning. The film, helmed by Ryan Cunningham, was a testament to her comedic prowess, with Glazer also serving as an executive producer. Glazer continued to showcase her talent in the 2022 season of The Afterparty, a mystery comedy on Apple TV+. In 2016, Glazer and Glennis Meagher co-founded the campaign platform Generator Collective.
