Clinton was the first woman to win the popular vote in an American Presidential election. She was the U.S secretary of state in the Obama Administration from 2009 to 2013. In 2008, Hillary Clinton joined the elections for presidentship but was eventually defeated by Barack Obama. Later in 2016, she ran for presidentship once again but lost the election to Republican opponent Donald Trump.
She was also the head of the White House Millennium Council and hosted Millennium Evenings several times, delivering lectures on future studies.
Being a writer, Hillary wrote a vast number of books throughout her life. Some of her famous books include "What Happened," "Hard Choices," "Stronger Together," "Living History," "The Unique Voice of Hillary," “Dear Socks,” “Dear Buddy: Kids' Letters to the First Pets” and many others. In 1996, Clinton portrayed a vision for American children in the book "It Takes a Village: And Other Lessons Children Teach Us."
Later, she went on a ten-city tour of the book and made several television appearances for the promotion of her book. Hillary received the Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album in 1997 for the book's audio recording. However, she became the first president's wife to win a Grammy Award.
