Hari Karthikeya Kondabolu (1982) is an American stand-up comic, filmmaker, actor, and podcast host. He is from New York City, New York, and attended public schools in Queens and graduated from Townsend Harris High School in Flushing in 2000. Kondabolu is the older brother of Ashok, a former member of the group Das Racist. During his time at Bowdoin College, Kondabolu performed stand-up though he later studied at Wesleyan University.
During a time in Seattle, Kondabolu began participating in its alternative comedy scene, and in 2006, Kondabolu started to participate in its alternative comedy scene. Kondabolu's stand-up comedy career gained traction in 2007 when he got accepted to the Masters in Human Rights program at the London School of Economics. For this, he took a hiatus year from stand-up and focused on his studies.
Kondabolu also filmed "Hari Kondabolu: Warn Your Relatives" in Seattle. It was released as a Netflix Special in 2018. Since then, he has made several television appearances as a stand-up comic, including Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2007. He also appeared in a variety of national comedy festivals, including the 2007 HBO US Comedy Arts Festival, Conan, The Late Show with David Letterman, and many more. He was also seen on Comedy Central (2008 episode of Live at Gotham) and three episodes of John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show.
