Hal Sparks Information
Hal Harry Magee Sparks III is a radio and television host, political commentator, musician, comedian, actor, and voice actor. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he grew up in Peaks Mill, Kentucky. He moved to the Chicago area at the age of 14 and enrolled at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois, and joined the theater department.
By 1988, while Sparks was still studying in high school, he had already become the host of a Saturday game show named Treasure Mall. After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles. Years later, in 1999, Sparks was hired to host a program named Talk Soup. In 2008, he produced his debut independent standup comedy DVD entitled “Escape from Halcatraz.”
Sparks frequently appears as a guest on different CNN programs such as Your $$$$$, The View, and The Joy Behar Show. In 2009 and 2010, Sparks participated in the Progressive Voices Cruise. He joined John Fugelsang and Stephanie Miller for the Successful Sexy Liberal Comedy Tour in 2011. He has appeared as a regular guest and fill-in host on the national Stephanie Miller Radio Show.
Sparks’ debut television movie was “Frog,” released in 1987, starring Scott Grimes, Elliott Gould, and Shelley Duvall. Other notable films he has appeared in so far include Chopper Chicks in Zombietown (1989), Invader (1996), Dude, Where’s My Car? (2000), Lightning Bug (2004), and Spider-Man 2 (2004).
