Ed Hill Information
Edward Monroe Hill is an American country music songwriter. Hill began performing in the early 1970s. Hill supports Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson and plays piano and keyboard. In the late 1970s, Hill joined the Palomino Riders, the house band of the Palomino Club, and supported performers, including Marty Robbins and Willie Nelson. He joined Gilley's Urban Cowboy Band in 1980, and for "Orange Blossom Special/Hoedown," he received a Grammy Award for Best Country Instrumental Performance.
He was a nominee for an Academy of Country Music Award in 1980 and 1982. He joined New Haven Music at the end of 1987; BMG acquired it in 1997. For "Songs I Wish Had Written," he has received four Nashville Songwriters Association International Awards. They are Faith Hill's It Matters To Me, Trisha Yearwood's Georgia Rain, Tracy Lawrence's Find Out Who Your Friends Are, and Trace Adkins' Just Fishin'. Hill received a Grammy nomination in 2012 for the song Just Fishin', which she co-wrote with Casey Beathard and Monty Criswell, in the Best Country Song category.
