Douglas Murray Information
Douglas Murray (July 16, 1979) is a British novelist, conservative political reporter, cultural critic, and journalist. In 2007, he established the Centre for Social Cohesion; from 2011 to 2018, he served as an associate director at the Henry Jackson Society, which he had co-founded. He has often written for Unheard, The Daily Telegraph, and The Spectator, three conservative British publications covering politics and culture. His present position is assistant editor of The Spectator.
Conservatives have praised Murray, while many on the left have harshly attacked him. According to articles in the scholarly journals National Identities and Ethnic and Racial Studies, his ideas have been associated with far-right political ideologies and Islamophobia. Murray's 2019 book The Madness of Crowds: Gender, Race, and Identity was a Sunday Times bestseller and dealt with issues of social justice and identity politics.
Murray released a book titled "The War on the West: How to Prevail in the Age of Unreason" in 2021. Columnist Gerard Baker referred to the book as an investigation of the various elements inside Western civilization that were used to seek to undermine it.
