Dominique Information
Dominique is a Berlin-based band that initiated informally around 1999. The band was founded by producer, singer and bassist Richard Davis, vocalist and keyboarder Dominic Eichler, and conceptual artist and guitarist Dave Allen. They got together in a Kreuzberg lounge-room with borrowed instruments and a four-track cassette recorder.
The current lineup of the band consists of Ben Clark (drums, percussion, guitar), (Paul) Richard Davis (producer and mixer, lead vocals, bassist, lyricist, arrangements), Dominic Eichler (assistant producer and mixer, lead vocals, keyboards, lyricist, arrangements), Thomas Goldhahn (sound engineer, string arrangements), Ninon Liotet (lead vocals on ‘Lad’ and backing vocals, website design, video), Anna Stark (cello, singing saw, string arrangements), and Simon Olivier (lead and rhythm guitars). Their music genre is defined as Chillout, Feeling, and Indy type.
‘Speak to Me’ was the debut album by Dominique that came out in 2002. It was first released on a limited-edition CB by Berlin indie-labels tête-à-tête. After a few years, the band got a small stipend to make their second studio album, that was an indie, guitar pop-orientated album entitled “The same you.” The album was released in 2004 by SueMi and tête-à-tête. In 2005, Dominique re-released the debut album on vinyl to great acclaim.
