DL Hughley Information
Darryl Lynn Hughley (March 6, 1963) is an American stand-up comedian and actor. Hughley gained fame as one of the "Big Four" comics in The Original Kings of Comedy, as the titular character on the ABC/UPN comedy The Hughleys, and as the first host of BET's ComicView from 1992 to 1993. In addition to his extensive resume, he has hosted CNN's D. L. Hughley Breaks the News, contributed to NBC's The Jay Leno Show, and worked as a radio host and interviewer in New York City.
Early in 2013, D. L. Hughley finished Dancing with the Stars in ninth place. When Dancing with the Stars was in its sixteenth season, Hughley competed. Cheryl Burke, a two-time champion, was his partner. On June 6, 2017, Hughley's second book was published by William Morrow. It is titled Black Man, White House: An Oral History of the Obama Years. William Morrow released Hughley's third book, How Not to Get Shot: And Other Advice From White People, on June 26, 2018, with a foreword by Doug Moe.
On June 30, 2020, HarperCollins published Hughley's fourth book, Surrender, White People: Our Unconditional Terms for Peace, including contributions from Doug Moe. Custom House published Hughley's most recent book, How to Survive America, with additions by Doug Moe, on June 15, 2021. The D.L. Hughley Show, his new chat show, debuted on TV One on March 18, 2019.
