Dita Von Teese was born as Heather Renée Sweet (September 28, 1972). She is an American vedette, burlesque dancer, costume designer, entrepreneur, model, singer, and actress. Von Teese is from Rochester, Michigan. She has earned the title of "Queen of Burlesque” for her re-popularizing burlesque performance. Von Teese was classically trained as a ballet dancer at a young age. She danced solo at the age of 13 for one of the local ballet companies. She also worked as a salesgirl in a lingerie store when she was 15.
At the beginning of her career, Dita Von Teese achieved recognition as a tightlacer in the fetish world. She also appeared in several fetish magazine covers, including Bizarre, Marquis, and a few more. She also appeared on Midori’s book cover entitled; The Seductive Art of Japanese Bondage. Von Teese was also featured in Playboy (1999, 2001, and 2002). She is heavily known for her burlesque routines.
