Dave Williamson Information
Williamson often tours the United States with his stand-up comedy shows. As an opener, he's shared the stage with Lewis Black and Jimmy Fallon. Williamson has a "palpable sense of awe" and "a childlike naiveté that is utterly charming and wholly endearing," as Daniel Berkowitz of The Spit Take put it.
In 2015, he established the Gundo Comedy Festival in El Segundo. Performers like Preacher Lawson and Bert Kreischer have been highlights.
Williamson hosts not one but two podcasts. Since 2018, he's hosted the weekly podcast, Meat Dave, discussing barbecue with comedians and chefs. (An avid fan, Williamson has a portable BBQ smoker installed in his tour bus.) Together with Tony Azevedo, a five-time Olympian water polo player, he started The Tony Azevedo Podcast in 2020.
Thicker Than Water and Trying My Hardest, produced by Grammy winner Dan Schlissel, have been published on his label Stand Up! Records. Stage Time magazine's Kaitlin Costello gave Thicker Than Water four stars, calling it "goofy, witty, and easily relatable."
