Owner/artistic director Christie McKay-Hofland established the company in 2002. When it comes to dancing instruction, Dancemakerz is among the best in the Greater Toronto Area. For the past 14 years, Dancemakerz has been recognized as the Best Dance Studio and Best Instructor by the readers of Dance Magazine.
Dancemakerz was recognized by the Flamborough Chamber of Commerce with the Business and Growth Development Award in 2006 and again in 2014. Christie opened the studio to share her love of dance with others. At DMZ, we place a premium on using rhythm and song to inspire and empower young people.
This dedication has also helped DMZ expand from its original, modest location to its current, state-of-the-art, 7,000-square-foot building, where all classes are held. At Dancemakerz, young people can gain self-assurance while having a great time. We foster an inspiring classroom climate and help students discover their inner dancers.
