Dan and Phil, whose real names are Daniel Howell and Phil Lester, are a business and entertainment duo from the UK. Since they first met in 2009, they have become famous for their joint work on YouTube, as well as their presentations on television and radio, books, tours, and original films. Lester and Howell posted their debut videos to their respective channels in March 2006 and October 2009.
The debut video for DanAndPhilGAMES, their new gaming channel on YouTube, was uploaded on September 12, 2014. On March 8, 2015, it reached a million subscribers. In terms of growth rate, it has surpassed all other YouTube channels. Over three and a half million people have subscribed to DanAndPhilGAMES.
In a spoof video called Saying Goodbye Forever, directed by PJ Liguori and featuring Jacksepticeye as a guest star, Dan and Phil revealed their comeback to the channel's video production on October 15, 2023. In January 2024, in honor of Lester's birthday, the two generously donated over $100,000 to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund during a two-hour charity broadcast they presented on the channel.
