Cirque du Soleil O Information
"O" is a water-themed stage spectacle produced by the Canadian circus and entertainment company Cirque du Soleil. Since October 1998, the performance has called the Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada, its permanent home.
This event, called O, happens around and above a 1.5-million-US-gallon (5,700 m3) pool of water. The word "eau" is spelled like "water" in English. It also includes airborne and ground performances and aquatic acts like synchronized swimming.
The O theater, styled after European opera houses of the 14th century, features 1,800 seats. It is built to accommodate the unique needs of the production, which means that, on average, 3,600 people may enjoy a performance there each night.
O drew inspiration from the "infinity and elegance of water's pure form," which alludes to the sophistication of the theater. There are 85 actors in the cast, and a crew of 150 stagehands helps them put up the play.
The 85 performers, including acrobats, synchronized swimmers, and divers, use a 1.5 million-gallon pool for their stunts. The pool is emptied in roughly 12 hours into Bellagio Lake for maintenance, raising the lake level by around 1 inch (25 mm).
Tours of Cirque du Soleil's O Theatre's backstage have been available since late October 2010. You may stroll up a catwalk into the sound and lighting booths and check out the rehearsal spaces, costume store, break room, and underwater lighting section. The 10,000th performance of O took place on September 1, 2019.
