Chris Wallace Information
Chris Wallace (October 12, 1947) is an American broadcast journalist. He has been likened to his father, 60 Minutes journalist Mike Wallace, for his intelligent and in-depth conversations. He has worked as a correspondent, moderator, or anchor at CBS, ABC, NBC, Fox News, and now CNN throughout his 50-year tenure in journalism. He was named one of the most reliable Broadcast news reporters in the United States in 2018. Among Wallace's many accolades are three Emmys, a Peabody Award, a George Polk Award, a duPont-Columbia University Silver Baton Award, and a Paul White Lifetime Achievement Award.
At the 1964 Republican National Convention, Wallace, then only an adolescent, worked as Walter Cronkite's assistant. His career as an "aggressive and ambitious correspondent" for The Boston Globe followed his graduation from Harvard University. When he witnessed television's influence on the news at the 1972 Republican National Convention, he devoted his career to broadcast journalism. He began his career at NBC (1975–1988) as a White House correspondent, working alongside CBS's Lesley Stahl and ABC's Sam Donaldson.
Wallace was a Meet the Press presenter and NBC Nightly News anchor. After that, he joined ABC as the host of Primetime Thursday and Nightline (1989–2003). At NBC, Wallace was the only person to host and moderate more than one of the main political Sunday morning talk shows in the United States.
