Charlottesville Ballet Information
The only full-time professional dance company in the Charlottesville region, Charlottesville Ballet was established in 2007 with a special focus on dancer welfare and is made up of artists from all around the world and the United States, including Brazil, Japan, and California. All body types are valued by Charlottesville Ballet, which does not have a strict physical ideal for its dancers.
Sara Clayborne and Emily Hartka, the co-directors, are dedicated to improving professional ballet while fostering a positive work environment for the performers. Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, Charlottesville Ballet is a nonprofit corporation that houses a professional ballet company and dance academy. Their goal is to advance dance via performances, community outreach, education, and well-being.
The Charlottesville Ballet's official training facility, a nonprofit institution for dance instruction that serves students from ages 1.5 to adult in all dance genres, first opened its doors in 2011. Young dancers get the opportunity to perform with the professional group at CBA. Dancers are welcomed into Charlottesville Ballet's Trainee Program as they graduate from advanced students to professional artists.
