Cesar Felipe Millan Favela (August 27, 1969) is a Mexican-American dog trainer. He has over 25 years of canine experience. Millan was born in Culiacan, Sinaloa. He is known for his Emmy nominated television series called “Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan.” This series was produced from the year 2004 to 2012. It is broadcasted worldwide in more than 80 countries. He was called “the dog herder” due to his natural way of treating dogs.
Millan crossed the United States border illegally when he was just 21 years. He did not know how to speak English and only had $100 in his pocket. Millan’s first job was at a dog grooming store after entering the United States. He created the Dog Psychology Center that was a two-acre facility in South Los Angeles. At this center, he had people specialized in working with large breed dogs. Millan started working with an MPH Entertainment Inc., who was about to start a television pilot for Dog Whisperer. The series premiered on September 13, 2004, and during its first season, it became the National Geographic number 1 show.
Millan also launched his magazine called “Cesar’s Way” in Canada and the United States in 2009. He was the Editorial Director of the magazine. In his magazine, he combined articles about the relationship between humans and dogs. He has been seen consistently throughout his career on Nat Geo Wild in different series and documentaries that he brought over time.
