Caleb Teicher is an American dancer and choreographer based in NYC. Caleb Teicher & Company presents work that is famous for blending traditional American dance forms into a modern context. Caleb is specialized in musically-driven dance traditions along with interdisciplinary collaboration. He initiated his official career as a founding member of Dorrance Dance, a critically acclaimed tap dance company by Michelle Dorrance. At the same time, Caleb was freelancing in contemporary dance (The Bang Group, The Chase Brock Experience), musical theater (West Side Story International Tour and London), and swing dance (Syncopated City Dance Company).
Caleb Teicher founded Caleb Teicher & Company (CT&Co) in 2015, and since then, his creative work has expanded to engagements and commissions all across the nation as well as internationally. This includes New York City Center, The Joyce Theater, the Guggenheim Museum (NYC and Bilbao), Lincoln Center Out of Doors, and Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. In 2016, Caleb’s amazing work was presented in over a dozen cities across the United States.
Caleb Teicher is well-known for his choreographic collaborations with the diverse musical talent, including the creation of his dance company with world-champion beatboxer Chris Celiz and composer/pianist Conrad Tao. Caleb has also performed as a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra.
In 2019, Caleb received New York City Center Choreographic Fellowship, Harkness Promise Award, two Bessie Awards, and a NEFA National Dance Project Production Grant. His work has also been featured by Forbes, Vogue, Interview Magazine, The New York Times, NPR, and the cover of the September 2019 issue of Dance Magazine.
