Bryan Callen Information
Bryan Callen is an American stand-up comedian, writer, actor, and podcaster from Manila, Philippines. Callen was born on a military base and lived overseas until he was fourteen years old due to his father's career as an international banker. He lived in India, Pakistan, Lebanon, Greece, The Philippines, and Saudi Arabia. In 1985, Callen graduated from Northfield Mount Hermon High School in Gill, Massachusetts. Later on, he attended American University in Washington, D.C., and graduated with a bachelor's degree in History.
When MADtv debuted in 1995, Callen was one of the eight original cast members. His character included Pool Boy from Cabana Chat with Dixie Wetsworth, "relationship-challenged" death row inmate Jeremy Anderson, and motivational speaker Al Casdy. Callen has also impersonated Al Gore, Luke Perry, Steven Seagal, Bill Clinton, Robert De Niro, Sammy Hagar, Kevin Bacon, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and a few more.
Callen has guest-starred on many television series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, CSI, 7th Heaven, Entourage, NewsRadio, Oz, Suddenly Susan, NYPD Blue, The King of Queens, Sex and the City, Kingdom, Reba, Fat Actress, Californication, and many more. He also played Ricky's sexually abusive father on The Secret Life of the American Teenager on ABC Family.
Callen headlined a solo stand-up comedy act at various venues all across the US, and, in 2016, he released Never Grow Up. It was recorded live at the Irvine Improv in April 2015 and released online in conjunction with The Fighter and the Kid 3D Web series. In 2019, Callen released a special entitled Complicated Apes.
