Blueys Big Play Information
The stage adaptation of Bluey is called Bluey's Big Play. The presentation covers a whole day in the life of the Heelers, from morning to night. Bluey and Bingo try to distract Bandit from his phone so they can read while Bluey and Chilli discuss how to be a good big sister to Bingo.
Bluey's Big Play features a taped audio track performed by the show's voice actors. Onstage, human-sized puppets play the roles of each of the show's characters. While one puppeteer is usually sufficient to manipulate a puppet's head, neck, and arms, a second is often needed to manipulate the puppet's legs and tailor to place and remove props from the puppet's hands. Puppeteers carry out onstage choreography in time with the given audio track.
The background is set up to hide the auxiliary puppeteers' entrances and exits from the audience. The show opens with a broad shot of the Heeler house's façade, then cuts to Bluey and Bingo's bedroom, the living room, and the backyard.
