Ben Roy Information
Ben Roy (June 18, 1979) is an American musician, singer, and comedian who currently resides in Denver, Colorado. Ben Roy is known for "spittle-flecked rants" on stage. He has been compared to Lewis Black and Bill Hicks. Roy is also a member of The Grawlix, a trio of Denver comedians. Together they are known for producing a monthly live comedy show and web series. Ben Roy stars on the TruTV show entitled Those Who Can't. As a singer, Roy has fronted many Denver-area punk rock bands.
Ben Roy began his official stand-up career by entering a Comedy Works new talent night in early 2004. Soon a Comedy Works manager snuck him into a professional competition where Roy placed second to Josh Blue, a well-known comedian. He was invited to perform in "New Faces," a division of the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, in 2010.
Roy has also performed in many other notable comedy festivals such as the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, the Boston Comedy Festival, the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival, the MTV Comedy Showcase. He was featured on Mock Stars: Indie Comedy and Dangerously Funny, HBO's Funny as Hell series.
I Got Demons is the debut stand-up album by Roy, released in 2012. Laughspin ranked it as one of the 10 Best Comedy Albums of the year. No Enlightenment in Sobriety is the second album released in 2014, followed by Ooze Your Delusions in 2018.
