BalletX Information
BalletX is an American ballet company whose dancers are named “among American’s best” by The New York Times. The company was founded in 2005 by Christine Cox and Matthew Neenan and is currently led by Cox. She has produced 84 world premiere ballets by 42 choreographers as Artistic and Executive Director. The ballet company tours all across the country extensively touring to many prestigious venues such as Vail Dance Festival, Belgrade Festival, Bermuda Festival, Laguna Dance Festival, New York City Center, The Joyce Theater, and Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival.
In the spring of 2018, BalletX opened its very first 5,000 square foot studio that became their administrative headquarters; the members named it “Center for World Premiere Choreography.” The company has been working every single day to improve classical dance, also running a teaching program where they teach beginners about classical ballet. It was launched in 2018, where they offered weekend and evening community dance classes. The contribution of BalletX to the American dance industry is recognized and supported by the Shubert Foundation, Wyncote Foundation, and the William Penn Foundation.
