Ballet MasterWorks is an event that is put on by the Colorado Ballet every other year. It is a compilation of works of varying styles in a single production. Ballet MasterWorks allows the company to demonstrate the skill and grace of its dancers as they venture beyond the confines of traditional ballet and into the uncharted territories of modern performance art.
At the majestic Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver on February 17, 2017, the Colorado Ballet presented three very different ballets as part of the opening night of the most recent iteration of their Ballet MasterWorks series. Every seat in the opera house was occupied by anxious audience members eagerly expecting this year's departure from the company's typical program. The audience members filled the orchestra, the balcony, and every seat.
